GLYNIS BREAKWELL took her PhD from the University of Bristol and her DSc from the University of Oxford. She is a Chartered Health Psychologist, an Honorary Fellow of the British Psychological Society, and an Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences. After a decade as Professor of Psychology at the University of Surrey, where she established the Social Psychology European Research Institute, Glynis Breakwell became Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of the University of Bath in 2001. Since then, she has continued her research on identity processes, leadership, and risk perception and communication. She has authored and edited over 20 books and her latest, 'The Psychology of Risk', was published by Cambridge University Press in 2007.
